As a pioneer of modern university libraries in East Asia, the Fung Ping Shan Library at The University of Hong Kong holds a distinguished collection of rare books originating from renowned Ming and Qing dynasty private libraries. Foremost among these is the exceptional collection of printed editions and bound manuscripts formerly held by Liu Chenggan’s (1881–1963) Jiaye Library in Wuxing, which stands as one of Hong Kong’s most valuable collections of Chinese rare books.
